About

Every game runs on two things: player and team names, and mathematical performance data — career and season statistics, minutes, accolades and dates. Nothing else.

• No real logos. We do not display official or trademarked NBA or team logos, wordmarks or uniforms anywhere in the app or in shared images. Team names appear only descriptively, to identify a roster.
• No photography. We do not display copyrighted player photography, including league headshots. Players are represented by their name with a plain initials marker.
• No likenesses. There are no custom avatars, 3D models, illustrations, animations or video clips imitating a player's visual appearance, voice or signature look — nothing that would implicate a player's right of publicity. Names and statistics are used factually, for identification and commentary.

The same restriction applies to anything the app generates for sharing: result cards and downloadable images contain text, numbers and our own typography only.

Artwork on this site is original and object-only — courts, diagrams, lockers, empty rooms and equipment. No player figures, silhouettes, uniforms or team marks appear in it. An automated check runs over every page and every generated share image to keep it that way.

Sources by data type

Statistics, minutes baselines, accolades and hint content come from Basketball Reference; union roles come from the NBPA's own directory. Here is exactly what comes from where:

• Player reps, alternates and Executive Committee offices: NBPA official leadership directory. The single source of record for Who's the Rep? answers and every Committee seat. No secondary outlet is used to fill gaps - if the directory lists no rep for a team, that team does not appear. Snapshot verified 31 July 2026.
• Career and season statistics, minutes, positions: Basketball Reference. Per-game and career averages, games played, minutes per game, positions listed, and the two-season peak windows and minutes baselines used for era pricing and the injury tax in Rotation Architect.
• Committee hints: Basketball Reference player pages. All three hint kinds are read off a player's Basketball Reference summary page: the nickname listed there, the position plus career averages, and the NBA timeline (draft year and team, seasons, All-Star and award lines).
• Awards, honors and draft history: Basketball Reference awards and draft pages. MVP, Finals MVP, All-Star, All-NBA, All-Defense and Hall of Fame lines, plus draft year, round and pick.
• 2019-20 bubble season standings: Basketball Reference 2019-20 season page. Final regular-season records, conference order, the eight-team playoff cut and the play-in cushion your build is slotted into.
• Contract values behind era-normalized cap %: Basketball Reference and Spotrac contract histories. Historical salary figures for a player's peak window, expressed as a share of that season's league salary cap so 1987 and 2019 deals compare on one scale.

• Editioning: Answers come from versioned editions with a source verification date, not a live scrape at play time. A correction creates a new edition and keeps completed results tied to the snapshot they were played against.
• Attribution, not affiliation. None of these sources endorse or are affiliated with this project. Statistics are facts used for commentary; we link back so you can check any number yourself.
